Locate Converse Busted Mugshots

Converse straddles the border between Miami County and Grant County, and that split shapes every record search you make. Where was the stop? That decides the jail. One arrest can land a person in either county's lockup, depending on the spot and the agency involved. So nail down those two details first. Then the search gets much easier. There is one more wrinkle worth knowing. The town police hold their own file, while the jail keeps the booking record, and those papers rarely sit in the same office. A custody roster answers one question only: who is behind bars that day.

Converse Arrests Cross County Lines

Converse is the second-largest incorporated place on the Miami County city map. STATS Indiana puts the 2024 whole-town estimate at 1,125 residents. The 2020 Census incorporated-place table reported 1,161. Both figures count Converse as one town. The municipal boundary actually stretches into Grant County, so treat each number as a whole-place figure rather than a Miami County-only population.

That boundary shapes the paper trail too. An offense on the Miami side can land someone in the Miami County Detention Facility when county holding is needed. A Grant County-side incident may be booked and held somewhere else entirely. Sometimes an arresting agency routes a person elsewhere for its own operational reasons. So an empty Miami County search result may simply be the correct answer.

Where Converse Busted Mugshots Appear

Converse has no official police blotter. There's no calls log, booking-photo feed, or daily arrest bulletin the public can pull up. Once you know which county handled the incident, though, the official channels fall into a workable order. Unofficial archives carry their own gaps and cannot promise city-specific coverage.

The unofficial sites paint a thin picture. Busted Newspaper's Miami County archive appeared to stop in 2018, and the Mugshots.com entry for this small county group dated back to 2013. Neither shows that Converse itself was ever covered. Recently Booked listed no Miami County section at all, and no verified local area turned up on Arrests.org or Mugshots.zone.

Busted in Converse Lookup Steps

Begin with geography. Don't type the same name into every county site you can find. The location printed on a citation, report, court notice, or firsthand account is often your best clue. It tells you which county's records to search.

  1. Write down the street or location, date, person's full name, and arresting agency.
  2. Ask the Converse Police Department or arresting office which jail received the person.
  3. For Miami County custody, search Miami County JailTracker and compare the available identifying details.
  4. If the result is absent or uncertain, call the receiving jail. Miami County's jail and administrative number is 765-472-1322.
  5. Request the town report from Converse and the booking sheet or photograph from the receiving jail.
  6. Search MyCase in the county where charges were filed, then use that county clerk for an official copy.

A booking number or court cause number beats a name every time. Names miss all the time. A release, a transfer, a citation instead of a booking, a different jail, or even a spelling quirk can each explain why a current-custody entry comes back empty.

Converse Police Records

The official Converse Police Department page lists Tyler Jenkins as Town Marshal. The town address is 210 N Jefferson Street, Converse, IN 46919. The phone number is 765-395-3459. The email is townofconverse@comteck.com. Personnel change over time, so lead any request with the office and the role rather than the person's name.

That page showed no records request form, fee schedule, response deadline, daily bulletin, arrest log, or booking-photo policy. A strong written request should cite the street location along with the name and an approximate date. Ask for the incident or arrest report if one exists. Request electronic delivery, and ask for a fee estimate up front. Then contact whichever jail actually received the person and request its booking sheet and intake photograph separately. The town police source appears in the captured page below.

Which Jail Holds Converse Bookings

A Miami County-side incident that ends in local detention goes to the Miami County Detention Facility. That's the county's booking destination. The sheriff runs it from 1104 W 200 N in Peru. Its JailTracker tool is a current-custody search, not an archive of every past arrest. The county publishes no update schedule, no persistence window, and no written rule about online photographs.

Never route a Grant County-side question to Miami County just because the address says Converse. Confirm the arresting agency and the receiving jail first. Read absence with care, too. A person missing from both rosters may have been cited, released, transferred, or held in another jurisdiction entirely.

Converse Busted Records Requests

Indiana's Access to Public Records Act sets the basic rules. A request walked into an office should be acknowledged within 24 hours. Mail or electronic requests get seven days. Acknowledgment is not delivery, though. An agency may still need more time to produce the record. It may also redact parts of it lawfully.

No Converse police fee or Miami sheriff booking-photo fee could be verified. Ask for an electronic copy plus an advance estimate. Indiana's general county copy limits may apply. A different statute can control a particular record, though. If anything gets denied or withheld, the custodian should cite the legal basis.

Incident report
The municipal or arresting agency's account of the event.
Booking record
The receiving jail's intake record after detention.
Booking photo
An image associated with intake, not evidence of guilt.
Disposition
The court's later resolution of the filed charge.

Keep each request narrow. Include a name, a date, and a location. Add the agency and any report or booking number you have. If you are unsure a record belongs to the person you mean, do not fill the gap with unrelated personal data.

Converse Busted News Coverage

Converse has no dedicated mugshot outlet of its own. Peru Indiana Today carries historical Miami County arrest reports, but its visible archive runs mainly from 2018 through 2020 and centers on Peru. WRTV and the regional papers will mention a Converse incident when it makes news. There is no fixed booking schedule to count on, though.

The commercial pages are even older. Busted Newspaper's newest post found for the county dates to January 4, 2018. Mugshots.com holds just eleven records, all from May through August of 2013. These independent archives can omit entries and keep stale claims. They also never show what a court decided later. Official jail, agency, and court sources should anchor any search.

Note: A county label on a commercial archive does not establish reliable Converse coverage or prove where an arrest occurred.

Converse Location Changes the Search

Converse sits on a cross-county line, and that detail shapes the whole search. It decides which sheriff may hold the booking record and which clerk keeps the case file. The Census incorporated-place table lists Converse as a single place, yet a criminal matter always follows the actual jurisdiction in play.

Old prison photographs call for a second distinction. Indiana Archives keeps state-correctional records and a large historical prisoner photo collection, particularly among early renumbered prisoners after 1897. Those are state institutional holdings, not old Converse or Miami County jail bookings. Archives guidance also asks for permission before state-prison images are published. The county's no-gallery approach stays on the safe side of that line.

When a Miami JailTracker result appears, carry it into MyCase. Online dockets can be incomplete and never substitute for the official court record. For certified facts, contact the clerk in the county where the case was filed. The Miami County custody overview applies once Miami County involvement is confirmed.

Verify Converse Busted Results

Test any match against what each source actually does. The police report shows what the arresting agency wrote down. The booking sheet shows what the receiving jail logged at intake. A roster shows who is currently listed in that jail. The court docket plus clerk show what happened after prosecutors filed. No single source can stand in for the rest.

A live result with a photo is just an interface observation. It does not prove every intake gets published. If no image appears, ask the receiving jail for the existing booking photograph. Miami County's static pages take no position on whether the sheriff posts one or holds it back.
